I began painting the mini paintings one evening when I did not have any particular painting in progress. I was at my weekly group meeting (Bauhaus Nuevo in Northridge, CA) when I found a photo of a bunny. I used a tiny canvas that I had in my bag of art supplies and created my 1st mini (Bunny 1). I had such fun painting it. I would giggle every now and again and exclaim “It’s so cute!” Every time I would look at it I would smile and laugh. When I saw the joy it brought to others, as well as me, I did more. It became something I would do as a gift to others. Then people began to ask for their pet to be painted, so I began doing them on a commission basis. The mini paintings of pets are something that I like to do just to bring a smile or fill a moment of pleasure with those around me. They are our little furry friends, part of our family. Some still here with us and others are in pet heaven. Where ever they are, their spirits still exist and are captured in these darling bits of memory.
The only job of these little paintings, are to make you smile. If they do that, then they have succeeded in fulfilling their purpose.
All the paintings are oil paint on canvas.
